Evaluating the Curl as a Kitten - Ruth

Adoptions and Young Adults for Sale

When we don't locate just the right home for our cats, we keep them until we do.  This page is the older kittens and young adults for adoption or sale.

CH Curlessence Mynishka Curl, "Nikki" -  Nikki is absolutely gorgeous!  One of her first shows, there were so many oohs and ahhs from the spectators as the judge took her out of the ring cage, that the judge stretched her out like they do for a few extra minutes for the spectators to get another look at her.  You could hear an audible in-take of breath from the group as they viewed her... (We weren't TOOO proud!... Oh, I can't lie... we were thrilled!)

Curl Essence Prince of Kurlz "Prince"
Black Solid with a little blue still showing that will eventually fade.

Already neutered and ready to go to his new home.

Prince is an absolute lover. ... even more than many of our cats.  Prince is a 'people cat'.  He absolutely REQUIRES personal one-on-one attention from his peeps.  He's a very touchy-feely cat.  He needs to be with the peeps like we need air to breath.  He's not needy... just extremely affectionate.  If you won't have time to spend with him, he's not your boy.  We do have cats that are more self-sufficient.. but that's not Prince.  If you want a cat that will dote on you and hang with you alot... this is your guy.

All the pictures of Prince except the one to the left with him snuggling with his mom were taken on Friday 4/4.  Price and Dice are from different litters but both were born the last week of Sept.

040408price1.jpg

I really tried to get some decent face shots, but his face just dissappears in the pictures and all that you see are his eyes.  That's really just the camera.

Prince has incredibly soft fur.   All our Curls have silky soft fur, but some are in a class by themselves.  It's hard to describe, but it's easy to feel.  Torti has that and she has passed it to this little guy.

Prince was outside enjoying the weather on the tall condo.  I moved him in the lower picture onto a different condo to show his body more.  Prince has this really pretty blue undercoat around his neck that surrounds his face.  The rest of his body is a sleek black.

Prince is a total player.  Well, he vasilates between 'total player', Dice's best bud, and a snuggle bunny.

He's like 'all whatever he's doing'.  He always gets me to chuckle when Mike gets out the laser light.  You almost have to see it in action to get the full effect of how cute he is.  He stretches out his front legs and paws at the light in super-seeed... he's zap! zap! zap!  back and forth with each leg.  He doesn't chase the light with his paws... his whole legs and body are into it.  It's way cute!

Prince is out of GC Curl Essence Cinnamon and CH Curl Essence Moonlit Torti Curl.

Prince is going to have really long soft, soft fur.  He should loose that shimmer of a light undercoat, but maybe not.  He's a total player... he and Dice get into it all the time.  They are nearly the same size.  They are the same weight, but slightly different body structures.  Dice has longer legs.  But Prince is the love bunny.  He's the snuggler.  You will find him right next to one of us (usually Mike) at night.  He curls right up next to Mike's side and that's where he spends the night.  If he gets stuck in the cattery when we go to bed, it won't be long before he's crying at the door to be let out so he can come sleep with the peeps.  He likes to go in the cattery and play with the older boys, but he has to sleep with the peeps.

The 3 pictures below and to the right were taken 5/4/08.   I saved them as gifs and they are a little pixilated.  I'll try fixing them for clarity later today.

So this is what life is like at our house.  We find our cats doing the most interesting things.  This time, Prince decided to make a game of crawling into an empty water bottle box.  We drink alot of bottled water.  We keep the cases by the front door so they are easy to grab on the way out of the house.  Well this box was empty but still had the plastic shrink-wrap on it.  Prince decided it would make a great new place to play.

Curl Essence Paradise, "Dice"
Male Brown Classic Tabby
Dice is old enough to go to a new home now.

Dice is such a great cat.  He and Prince were both neutered at 4 months. They have grown up together from birth.  Sandra needed a little reassurance and instruction when she had Dice (odd, but that happens sometimes with new moms), so we put her and Torti together in a nursery cage.  Torti took care of him most of the time for the first couple of weeks until Sandra's mother insticts kicked in.  Then they co-parented these two boys.  When Torti decided she was done, Sandra had just gotten started.  By then, she had decided she really liked being a mom and totally took over.  She's been that way since.

Prince and Dice do not have to stay together.  As they have grown, they spend more and more time away from each other either by themselves or with us or the other cats.  It would be great if they went to the same home together though.  If you want two close buds, you should consider these two guys.  They are so totally different and so much alike in other ways.

This is Dice relaxing with mom, CH Curl Essence Sandra Curllock.  This is an older picture, but Mike just likes the 'mother-son' pictures.

Linda will be at the Costa Mesa Pet EXPO, Sat & Sun 4/12-4/13 with Joy, and hopefully, Dice and Prince.  Entries have to be accepted for the 2 boys.  Dice will be showing in kitten class.  If you are interested in seeing these little guys up close and personal, come see us at the show.

The 2 pics to the right and the 2 below were taken 5/4/08.  I was having trouble getting his attention.  The weather here is so nice today, the kids just want to lounge around outside in the outside cage.  They really love this outside area we created for them.  It is surrounded on 3 sides with shade cloth so they can see out and watch the trees and the birds but the neighbors can't see in.  We have this area divided into 5 separate areas that can be closed off if we want.  Today we had our 3 adult whole males in their separate areas and the rest of the area open for the other cats to hang out.

PreciousCurls Dolche, Fawn Tabby Male
(neutered - all shots and showing in CFA)

If you would like to chat with Jane directly about any of her babies, click here

Dolche is an absolute sweetie.  Jane's girls literally maul these kittens all day when they are not in school.  Shae's boyfriend even comes over all the time just to play with them.... oh ya, and to see Shae too.  You will be hard pressed to find a breeder that has cats that are as socialized as Jane's.  I thought we handled our cats alot, but there's no way we have the time to spend with our babies that Jane and her family (including the boyfriend) do.

This is Armani and Dolche.  Both boys are showing in CFA in kitten class.  Armani will be graduating to Champion status next month and Dolch will be showing in Premiership.  At the last couple of shows, these boys have gone head to head with the judges.  Doche is already neutered and has all his shots.  Armani is not available... he's mine.  We're going to be letting him learn about the birds and the bees soon.  If you like the pics of the colorpoints above, watch for our Christmas kittens.  We have 2 really pretty colorpoint females that are waiting anxiously for Armani to growup and feel his oats.

CurlEssence Sherman Curl
Silver Spotted Tabby - Male

082707sherman1res72.jpg

Sherman is a playful boy who keeps things stirred up at the Cattery.  He loves to play and he has silky soft fur and wonderful markings.

Sherman is Eight months old at the time of this posting (08/27/2007).

Sherman will make a wonderful addition to the right home.

110807sherman1.jpg

The picture above and below was taken on 11/11.  Shermie is full grown at just under a year old.  He has become such a sweetie.  Having another cat to play with is a MUST for Shermie.  He is such a player and will not be happy without at least one full time playmate.  If you have a cat that needs another cat to encourage his/her to play, this is your guy.  If not, we will not let him go alone.  He will be great with either Dessy or Hershey, but another cat to play with is critical for him.

"Sherman" is shown here with our black boy "Dessy." The picture above is several months ago.  The pic below was taken 11/11.

Sherman is one of those cats that is going to be a 4 mo old kitten for a LONG LONG L-O-N-G time!  He is into everything!  He is such the total player!  The only way to really express how much he absolutely NEEDS to play would be to tell story after story about him... we just don't have the room here to tell you stories, but if we did, I can guarantee you would be in stitches!

Hershey could not be shown in Champion class or Premier class because he broke his tail as a newborn in his cage.  If you know what to look for, you can almost see the break in the very tip.  The underside of his tail is blue.  He is out of Julie and Erskin.

030807hershey2.jpg

Hershey loves EVERYONE!  He's sooo sooo affectionate that he's purring as soon as you pick him up.  Whenever we go out to clean the boys' cages, he immediately starts pawing thru the cage to make contact with us.

We sometimes put him outside with either Dessy or Shermie to play.  They are a kick to watch.  He would be fine with no other pets as long as he gets plenty of attention from his peeps, or he could just as easily fit into a family with kids and other pets.

Hershey is a gorgeous boy.  We were going to keep him to breed but decided he just needs to be with his peeps to much to be kept confined.  Our studs are not allowed to run loose because of potential accidental breedings... also, they can get territorial once they have started to feel their oats.

Hershey is one of those guys that will think he's a kitten when he's an old man.  He loves to play and really misses the one on one with the peeps.  It's not fair to him to keep him as a stud.  He will make a wonderful companion to just about anyone.
